Hazardous Waste

Egan Waste specialise in Hazardous Waste Removal in South Wales, and its surrounding areas including the South West, and with our dedicated team of professionals, fully trained to remove hazardous substances including asbestos disposal. We also provide a complete tank cleaning service whether it be acid, alkali, toxic or non-toxic chemicals.

Hazardous Waste Collection & Disposal

At Egan Waste Services we can provide tailored solutions for the disposal of hazardous waste. We can gather samples for analysis, prior to collection, so we can determine the appropriate treatment, and then safely transport it to our own treatment facility (licence permitting), or to another authorised and approved facility. We can safely dispose of drummed waste, batteries, aerosols, laboratory clearances, WEEE, fluorescent tubes and asbestos, although this list is not exhaustive.

We'll supply you with a specially designed skip, or container in which to store your hazardous waste until it is ready for collection. We'll then collect it from your premises carefully, ensuring that it's safely disposed of and in line with current hazardous waste regulations. We can advise you on your legal requirements for different hazardous waste types and we can also register your site as a hazardous waste producer if you are legally required to do so.

In our tankers, we can transport many forms of hazardous waste, from sludges to solvents. Our vehicles include mild steel and stainless steel and tanks.

Drummed and packaged waste can be collected by us, and our services range from a one off service to regular consignments of drums and intermediate bulk containers (IBC’s).

Our service complies with the latest hazardous transport legislation.

Tank Cleaning and Removal

At Egan Waste Services we provide a cost-effective tank cleaning service, ensuring that tanks are taken out of service for the minimum time. Our cleaning methods have always met and frequently exceeded expectations of our clients. Our operatives are trained to operate in confined spaces using the required safety equipment and have been trained to a City and Guilds standard for entry into tanks, and further, to WJA standards for any jetting operations carried out. We can follow all cleaning by carrying out an inspection of the tank for re-use and / or issue gas-free certification. At all times we ensure that your tank cleaning is managed and work is carried out to the highest standards, and the environment is not adversely affected.

Exceptional care must always be taken when decommissioning and removing tanks particularly where there is a risk of pollution, or even explosion. Egan Waste Services can provide specialist care with many years’ experience of tank removal. With safe systems of work in place and the correct equipment, tank removal is carried out safely and efficiently, frequently with minimal disruption to businesses or homeowners. Every tank removal job is different, that is why we’ll produce a tailored proposal and safe system of work to suit your needs. All of our work is carried out by our own team, and we don’t subcontract our work. We ensure that all tanks are gas-free before removal and provide our customer with the required certification.

We have many years’ experience of cleaning and removal of all types of storage tanks, situated in local authority yards to major refinery and military holding tanks.

Asbestos Collection & Disposal

For convenient asbestos disposal to suit every site and scenario, Egan Waste Services offer a collection service with trained ADR qualified drivers to collect the waste in containment, ranging from CDG bagged waste to 35 cu yd enclosed bins. We provide a fast turnaround to offer efficient and convenient asbestos collection to suit your needs. After collection of your Asbestos waste, we can ‘bulk up’ CDG bagged waste at our licensed facility for later safe disposal or transport larger containment direct to licensed Asbestos landfill facilities where it is disposed of in accordance with environmental legislation. Our specialist knowledge assures customers that their waste is treated safely and legally in all stages of the process and all of the required duty of care paperwork is provided to ensure full compliance.

We are also an approved contractor for Natural Resources Wales.

Interceptor (Separator) Servicing

Egan Waste provides a safe and reliable interceptor cleaning and maintenance service.

The service and maintenance of interceptors, also known as separators, is essential for legislative reasons. Environmental standards, which should be followed, state that your interceptors, or separators should be serviced at least twice a year.

We can service / maintain the gullies, manholes and ensure that the interceptor chambers are cleared and cleaned. We offer a maintenance service for which we carry out all these services at the same time, therefore reducing your costs and keeping your premises working at its highest level, and ensuring legality.

Confined Spaces

Working in confined spaces presents complications and dangers, as well as strict health & safety regulations that control the people who are required to carry out the work. Egan Waste Services can provide competent and experienced confined space operatives, trained to city and guilds standards for your requirements, whether that be for interceptor servicing, tank entry and cleaning, drainage pit surveying etc. Safety is our first priority, so our teams will always arrive on site fully equipped with gas monitoring equipment, resuscitation, retrieval and other safety equipment. We will also carry out and supply risk assessments and method statements before starting work. Therefore, we will ensure everyone’s health and safety is paramount and leaving you with the peace of mind whilst we carry out the necessary task in hand.
